1. "When I run the Words analysis with the es/ing stemming filter on, the totals don't seem to be correct."
If you expand a heading that contains several related words, the totals in each column are correct, but will not necessarily add up to the total line at the top due to different proximities. However, the last Total column will sum the rows below it.

Problems with MS Word (top) |
1. "When I try to open a Word document from myWordCount, the document doesn't open or I see conflicting dialogs."
This happens sometimes if your version of Word is unlicensed or a demo version. You may have this problem until you register your copy of Word. To eliminate the conflict when using myWordCount, open Word and your document first, then run myWordCount and select that open Word document.

2. "I have made some changes to my document after I ran a count procedure and now my graphing doesn't line up properly."
You will need to run the appropriate count procedure again, and then do the graph. In some cases, you may want to save the text file and reopen it again to be sure the words are aligned properly.

1. "I see messages about my file not being in the correct format."
You may see this message if the file you opened appears to have no sentences. You also see this if we detect the file is not in UTF-8 format and there may be accented or special characters that require this format. You may have this problem if you notice funny looking characters in the text window or tables. You may need to use your word processing program to save or export the text in UTF-8 format.

2. "I see an error message when graphing phrases about not finding all the phrases."
This can be caused by more than one space between the words in the phrase. The count routine ignores multiple spaces, but when we attempt to graph the phrase, it won't find phrases if they have more than one space between words.
